Bargue table. Spain, 18th century
Bargueñera table with rectangular top decorated with geometric motifs and ‘San Antonio’ legs. Rosewood and wrought iron fasteners. Spain, 18th century. Two straight legs, opening downwards and joined with a chambrana, are secured by two curved braces with a disc in the centre made of light-coloured wrought metal.
Similar examples are kept in the Spanish Sorolla Museum (inventory 30023), the National Museum of Decorative Arts (CE02068) and a more similar one in the Museo Comarcal de Daroca (00038).
Measurements: 176 x 70 x 79 cm.
