A GERMAN PEWTER JUDAICA SEDER PLATE CIRCA 1870
An antique engraved pewter plate for the Seder Passover ritual. On the back there are German manufacturer's stamps: "D REUTLINGEN" and the figure of an angel. Seder Passover (Pesah) is a ritual family meal held at the beginning of the Passover holiday (Jewish Easter). The basis of the ritual is the memory of the ancient Israelites leaving Egyptian slavery, the history of which is set forth in the biblical book of Exodus.
