ANTIQUE THEATRICAL ETCHINGS BY JOHN H. MORTIMER
A pair of antique etchings on paper by John Hamilton Mortimer, 1740 to 1779, a British painter and printmaker. The artworks come from the Twelve Characters from Shakespeare series. First. Caliban, with a quote from Tempest, Act II Scene 3. Second. Edgar, with a quote from King Lear, Act III Scene 3. Each print is titled on the top and signed on the bottom, Published May 20, 1775 by J. Mortimer, Norfolk Street, Strand. Green mat, golden frames. European Graphic Art Prints, Theatre Collectibles.
