FOUR RUSSIAN SOVIET ERA FILIMONOVO WHISTLE TOYS
A lot of four vintage Russian Soviet era clay Filimonovo whistle toys, modeled as fairy tale animals. Hand molding and painting. Note: Filimonovo toys are a type of Russian pottery craft produced in Odoevsky District of Tula Oblast, Russia. The toys derive its name from the village of its origin, Filimonovo, and are molded by hand from the bluish-gray local clay that fires into a pure white ceramic. The artists paint the figures with aniline dyes with motifs of brightly colored stripes and spots. Russian Folk Art, Hand Crafted Toys And Figurines For Collectors.
