1887 ANTIQUE FRENCH OIL PAINTING BY HENRY SCHAFER
Henri Schafer, French, 1833 to 1916, an antique oil painting on canvas, Antwerp, 1887. The artwork depicts a European cityscape. Signed with a monogram and dated lower right. Framed. A gold tone plate, engraved with the artist name, the title, and the date, on the front of the frame. Henri Schafer was a Victorian era artist who studied at l Ecole Nationale de Beaux Arts, Paris, he painted town and city scenes and cathedral interiors in Belgium, Germany, and France.
