An antique Russian Orthodox icon of Mother Of God Kazanskaya. The hand painted icon with egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on the wood panel. Inscribed to the center left. Circa: late 19th century. The Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is a revered miraculous icon of the Mother of God, which appeared in Kazan in 1579. One of the most revered icons of the Russian Orthodox Church.
