ATTR TO ALEXANDER YOUNG JACKSON OIL PAINTING W COA
Attributed to Alexander Young A.Y. Jackson, Canadian, 1882 to 1974, oil painting on board depicting a forest landscape, Spring Thaw. Signed lower right. Circa:1960s. Additionally inscribed, on the backside. Completed with a hand written letter, signed and dated 2024, and a certificate of authenticity of the Wallack Galleries, on the backside. Alexander Young Jackson was best known as one of the members of the Group of Seven, the famous group of Canadian modernist painters. Jackson made a significant contribution to the development of art in Canada, and was instrumental in bringing together the artists of Montreal and Toronto.
