RUSSIAN IMPERIAL ARMY DISTINCTION INSIGNIA PHILIPPOPOL
An antique Russian Imperial Army distinction insignia, designed as a ribbon-shaped badge with the inscription For Philippopolis, 4 January 1878. The badge commemorates the Battle of Philippopolis which was one of the final battles of the Russo-Turkish War, a significant conflict between the Russian Empire and the Ottoman Empire, with the participation of Romania, Serbia, and Montenegro.
