Alexander Calder, American, 1898 to 1976, a color lithograph exhibition poster titled Sane, featuring a powerful quote by John F. Kennedy Mankind must put an end to war or war will put an end to mankind. Created by renowned American sculptor for the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, 1975. Printed in France by Mourlot. Calder is known both for his innovative mobiles that embrace chance in their aesthetic, his static stabiles, and his monumental public sculptures. Provenance: a well-preserved time capsule within the prestigious Decoration and Design Building in New York City, a landmark trade hub celebrated among top interior designers.
