An Antique 19th Century Chinese Celadon-Glaze Small Ginger Jar/Vase with Provenance. Covered overall in a pale crackled celadon-brown/green glaze. Qing Dynasty, 18/19th Century. Size h: 2 in., d 2 1/4 in. Provenance: Collection of Edward Hyers Clayton (1886-1946). American writer and missioner. E.H. Clayton and his wife were missionaries of the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society in charge of Wayland Academy, a missionary school in Hangzhou, China from 1912 to 1942. E.H. Clayton wrote a book Heaven Below based on his living experience in China.
