Ca. AD 100-300.A rectangular-shaped marble funerary plaque for ABURIA PROCULA, carved with three lines of Latin inscription. Funerary plaques provided a lasting tribute to the departed, ensuring their memory endured through time. They typically included inscriptions with the name, titles, and sometimes personal details or virtues of the deceased. Size: 220mm x 330mm; Weight: 4.7kg Provenance: Property of a London gallery, acquired on the Dutch art market, S.D.; formerly with Cedric Renard, acquired on the Brussels art market in 1984.
