Ca. AD 618 – 907 A Chinese figure of a foreigner. The figure is depicted in a dynamic pose, standing on a rectangular pedestal. He might be in the process of a performance, hence the body posture of showing his muscles. His face is moulded with a textured beard, passionate expression, with muscular details on his body. He wears a loose-fitting robe hiked around the waist, accompanied with a pair of tall black boots and a cloth cap tied around his hair. This piece has been precisely dated using a Thermo Luminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The report will accompany the lot. Size: 590mm x 230mm; Weight: 5.78kg Provenance: East Anglian private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter. This piece has been precisely dated using a Thermo Luminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The report will accompany the lot. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy.
