PAIR OF CHINESE LIAO DYNASTY AMBER-GLAZED VASES
Ca. AD 916 - 1125 A pair of tall Chinese vases. Both vases are presented in an amber glaze, a slender baluster body and a circular foot. The vase on the right is decorated with a phoenix's head beneath the cup-form mouth. This lot is a wonderful example of signature Liao ceramic types. For similar see: The Palace Museum, 新00064923.
