AMLASH STONE VASE WITH SPOUT
Ca. 2500 - 2200 BC An Amlash carved stone vase exhibiting a planar base, an apple-shaped body with a protruding shoulder, and a flared rim. Extending off one side is a semicircular spout connecting to a part of the rim, enabling the contents held inside to be poured easily. The Amlash vessels were buried in large megalithic tombs which were built as part of the Marlik culture. Size: 60mm x 120mm; Weight: 175g Provenance: Property of a West London gentleman; previously in a collection formed on the UK/International art market in the 1980s.
