WESTERN ASIATIC BRONZE HEAD OF AXE/PICK
Ca. 1200 - 800 BC A bronze socketed axe head with a curved blade edge, a slender, socketed neck, and a pickaxe blade on the rear side. A thick green patina has formed due to age, and the degree of preservation is admirable. For similar see: Christie's Axel Guttmann Collection of Ancient Arms and Armours, Part II, Lot 34. Size: 95mm x 190mm; Weight: 1.01kg Provenance: Property of an Oxfordshire art professional; previously in an old British collection, formed in the 1980s on the UK / International art markets.
