A BRONZE RITUAL WINE VESSEL AND COVER, FANGHU
China, Eastern Zhou dynasty, 7th century BC
Supported by a trapezoidal foot section with undulating lower edges, the flat body enlarging towards the lower area, on both sides of the sturdy neck ear-shaped handles with animal head, the interlocking lid with flared upper edge, on the external surface a relief decoration of stylized geometric patterns.
