Hommage à A. Ardail is a beautiful black and white etching on paper, realized by the French artist Charles Courtry (1846-1897). Of little dimensions yet of high finesse, this modern artwork represents a musician playing the trumpet and announcing the artist A. Ardail. This original print is in excellent conditions and reveals the incredible draftsmanship of "one of the best aquafortists of the nineteenth century", as the Bénézit Dictionary presents him. Charles Courtry (1846-1897) was the French engraver illustrated various French journals, such as the Gazette des Beaux-Arts, The Artist, and the Universal Museum. His artistic production is very wide. He was named Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honor.
