FOUNDRY (PANDIANI?), XIX CENTURY
Puteal. Inspired by Niccolò de Conti's design
Coated bronze. 13 x 33,5 x 33,5 cm
Wonderful bronze replica from Niccolò de Conti’s original. In the Doge’s Palace of Venice two monumental puteals can be found, packed with gorgeous relief decorations. One of them was done by Alberghetti, the other by De Conti, both in the Renaissance era.
Our piece faithfully replicates De Conti’s work.
This item was produced by a foundry in 1800s, perhaps in Veneto or Lombardy (Pandiani’s?).
