3 - Clyde Tombaugh & James Van Allen Signed Covers & Cancelled Stamp Sheets
A hard to find offering of original signatures from two great space pioneers. The first signature is by Clyde Tombaugh who discovered the planet Pluto in 1930. There are two items from James Van Allen who was instrumental in discovering the magnetic radiation belts around Earth that now bear his name following the 1958 Explorer 1 and Explorer 3 Satellite missions. There is a vintage matte-finish black and white 7" x 5" photo of James Van Allen that is signed. This lot also includes space stamp blocks. All of these items are in excellent to near mint condition.
