Fine Texas Two Gallon Stoneware Jar Attributed Jeremiah S. Hogue Shop of Titus County Texas. What an outstanding jar with a 2 stamped on the shoulder and a glaze that is just stunning. The jar was found over 10 years ago in Oak Grove Texas (Wood County) at an estate sale, then sold to a stoneware collector in Atlanta Georgia. The jar is around 1880-90 time period. Condition is outstanding and has no hairlines or repairs. One small glaze flake in the inner rim of the jar. The clay is typical of east Texas stoneware and has a fine bluish grey color. Premium example and is fresh to the market and stands 11 3/4" Tall
