Significant Edgefield SC 1840-50 Coffee Cup or Mug. Well folks it doesn't get any better, rare, finer, and the pinnacle of utilitarian stoneware than this one. Simply Find Another One, but Find Another One in Mint condition, and with a stellar glaze. That aside, this is one of the most highly significant museum quality/collector and investment grade examples on the market within the past year. The cup is from a local collection. This is 100% Authentic and the consignor and Cagle Auction stand behind this example. I personally believe this to be a Chandler Maker or slave made cup in the time period give the handle carries the traits. Again one of the more sought after examples in southern pottery that almost never come to market. Condition, well it doesn't get any better with no issues. Mint, no repairs. Fresh to the market example from a local area collection. Standing 3 3/8" Tall x 4" Diameter on the top of the cup.
