Chagall Mark- a handwritten and signed letter concerning the translation and publication of his wife's poems to Hebrew. "Paris 19.7.57
Dear Talpir, i have received your letter today, including the translated poems. of course it is hard for me to feel the translation(from Yiddish to Hebrew), you say its good, so i believe you. and also believe Shlomo Shenhod(writer and translator), he chose them and seems to have felt them. so, i thank him, please tell him so...."
Chagall suggests that Shenhod would translate, if he is willing, the two poetry book by his 1st wife Bella. He writes that a good friend of his from Haifa is in process of printing the poems accompanied with his illustrations and asks him to get in touch with him, to decide about the best way to do it. he also writes that translating his wife's poems will "plant her" in Israel
