SHIMON BAR-KOKHBA, 132 – 135 CE
Silver Denarius or Zuz, year two. 3.3 gr. Obverse: "Shimo(n)" in wreath. Overstruck on a denarius of Vespasianus. His portrait is still clearly visible. Reverse: Juglet. Paleo-Hebrew inscription: "Y(ear) t(wo) to the Free(dom) of (I)srael". Meshorer TJC 250; Hendin 1399 (similar). About Very Fine. Ex Shoshana Rosen estate, Bnei Brak.
