(1888-1957) American naval officer, explorer, and MOH recipient. 'Little America: Aerial Exploration in the Antarctic - The Flight to the South Pole'. Written by Richard Evelyn Byrd, G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1930, 422 pages, hardcover, 9.5 x 6.5 inches, signed by Byrd on half-title page, 'To W.O. Buck - With all good wishes - R.E. Byrd' and dated February 4th, 1931. Book has 74 illustrations and maps. Book cover has loss at top edge, minor abrasions, and minor toning on pages.
