Softcover. 25 p., 15 illus., 9 in color, 24 x 17 cm. Mostly 16th - 18th century rugs: Lotto, Ushak, Polonaise, Dragon, Spanish. The text has detailed comments on each rug. Ettinghausen was a noted scholar of Islamic art, working at the Kaiser Friedrich Museum in Berlin, the Freer in New York, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, so the text is interesting.
