Responsa upon topics in Even Haezer by Maran Rabbi Yosef Karo, author of the Beis Yosef and Shulchan Aruch.
Like other epic writings of the Beis Yosef, his responsa occupies a place of respect in Jewish libraries around the world and is regarded as a fundamental work in Jewish literature. Leading halachic authorities throughout the following centuries drew from the wellsprings of his responsa on subjects of marriage, divorce, kesubah and agunah.
The Responsa of Rabbi Yosef Karo was compiled and published by his son Rabbi Yehuda Karo. In the preface to the book, he relates that the Beis Yosef appealed to his children in his final will and testament to edit and publish his responsa.
