The mechutanim on both sides were both venerable Hungarian sages. The chosson’s father, Hagaon Harav Eliezer Zussman Sofer of Faks, authored the Yalkut Eliezer. The kallah, who was orphaned of her father, was raised by Harav Yeshaya Zilberstein, Av Beis Don of Vizen,
The chosson
Harav Shmuel Binyamin Sofer (1873-1943) was named for his father’s Rebbi the Ksav Sofer. In 1903, he succeeded his elder brother Harav Yosef Leib Sofer as Av Beis Din of Dratshke.
