A Neapolitan Baroque Ebony and Biblical Scenes Inlaid Plaques Cabinet on a Later Stand, Attrib. Jacobo Fiamego, Late 16th Early 17th Century

The upper part, Late 16th early 17th century, the lower part a later addition (18th-19th century).

The 12 scenes engraved in the drawers are typical of Jacobo Fiamengo and are all from the Old Testament. including:

"The explorers returning with grapes", "David and Shaul", "The crossing of the Red Sea", "Moses striking the rock", "The golden calf", "The copper snake", "Noah's sacrifice", "Daniel and the lions", "The meeting between Jacob and Esau", "David entering the arch in Jerusalem", "Noah and the dove", "King Salomon reading the Torah".

The figures engraved in the center are probably of the original owner, including the coat of arms on the top. Both have not been deciphered.

The stand is of later period and richly decorated with marine motifs.
