A Russian M1914 army officer's dagger with filed off cipher of NII attributed to the Provisional Government of 1917. The 9 3/4 inch blade of diamond shape with deep fullers on each side with engraved floral motif and double headed eagle and Cyrillic inscription on the reverse: Zlataoust/Russia/Army. Wooden scabbard covered with black leather. Gilt brass scabbard with gilt brass mounts. Provenance: Bonhams, ARMS AND ARMOR sale, 28 Jun 2010.
