IMPERIAL RUSSIAN 1914 AIR FORCE DAGGER FOR BRAVERY
A rare Imperial Russian M1914 Air Service dagger awarded for bravery with a miniature order of St. Ann set on the ebony grip. The blade of flattened diamond shape is etched with floral motif and cipher of Nicolas II, the other side is featuring a scene of a biplane, a zeppelin and two observation balloons. Marked for the Zlataoust Arsenal. Crossguard inscribed in Cyrillic on both sides "For Bravery". Provenance: Bonhams, ARMS AND ARMOR sale, 28 Jun 2010.
