A GERMAN COBALT BLUE GLASS LIDDED CHEST WITH SCENES OF BADEN-BADEN, 19TH CEN.
A cobalt-blue-glass lidded chest with many brightly gilt scenes of notable landmarks from around Baden-Baden, including the Konversationshaus (now known as the kurhaus), Eberstein Castle, and the convent at Lichtenthal Abbey, among some other locations. The glass is trimmed with brass mounts and affixed with brass handles, with the hinge of the lid being decoratively chased. Many sections of the box are decorated with intricate white and gold floral imagery, including the underside of the lid.
