The barrel and part of the stock of an Indian matchlock gun. The barrel is made of steel and has some relief decoration near the breech and by both the front and rear sights. The sides of the stock are beautifully painted with scenes of leaping creatures, including antelope, rabbits, dogs, jaguars, and a tiger, and the underside is painted with floral designs. The barrel and stock are loosely held together by two barrel bands. One appears to be of brass and is not decorated, the other appears to be of silver and has fine filigree engraving.
