AN OTTOMAN FLINTLOCK PISTOL WITH SILVER DECORATION, 19TH CEN.
A nicely made flintlock pistol with intricate applied silver decoration and coral cabochons to the stock, including a niello on the pommel and a small niello plaque on the back strap. The barrel is delicately chased and has some remnants of damascene near the base, as well as two stamped marks. The flt bore 199 mm diameter barrel is held to the stock by a barrel band of wrapped silver wire.

Condition: Barrel has been cleaned. Grip with a crack and some signs of old restoration. Pommel with a small missing section. Ramrod is original but tip is broken. Stock with some scratching. Lock non-functioning.
