OSSORIO ALFONSO: (1916-1990) Filipino American abstract expressionist artist. A.L.S., Alfonso Ossorio, one page, 4to, East Hampton, New York, 14th November 1990, to Harriet and Donald Rothfeld. Ossorio apologies for the delay in replying to his correspondent's 'interest & enquiries concerning my work' and continues to provide details of three pieces in which they had expressed an interest, '1. “Fourth of July, 1954”…..ink, wax & watercolor on paper board $25,000.00, 2. “Uprooted”…..wax & w.color, circa 1955 $10,000.00, 3. “Act of Faith”…..1956, oil on canvas…..Reproduced #41 in Ossorio, 1940-1980 catalogue (Collection Robert U. Ossorio) N.F.S. at the moment, but I will approach him again about parting with the painting', and enclosing photographs of the works. Together with the photographs referred to, being three black-and-white 8 x 10 photographs of Fourth of July 1954 (2; showing the work both framed and unframed) and Uprooted, each annotated by Ossorio in pencil to the versos, and further including a small colour transparency of Uprooted, loosely contained in an envelope annotated by Ossorio.
