CONTI BILL: (1942- ) American composer and conductor of film scores, Academy Award winner. A.M.Q.S., Bill Conti, to an oblong 12mo card, n.p., n.d. In black ink Conti has penned two bars of music which he identifies as being from the score of the American sports drama film Rocky (1976). Signed immediately beneath the quotation. VG
Gonna Fly Now, also known as Theme from Rocky, became a part of American popular culture in the 1970s after the film´s main character and namesake, Rocky Balboa, as part of his daily training regime runs up the 72 stone steps leading to the entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art as the song plays.
