Ancient Jewish Amulet, Circa 1850
Ancient silver amulet, (the silver has been examined, non-marked). Popular silver crafting (Yemen/Persia?).
The edges are decorated with snake-like filigree. 5 ears for hanging are welded on the circumference of the amulet (the two upper ones, for a chain and the three lower ones for hanging additional pendants).
A text in Hebrew script is engraved on the amulet. Due to the age of the item and natural wear, the text cannot be totally deciphered (single words are readable, such as: "Shema Yisra" – most likely "Shema Yisrael" and "Shaday").
Length: 6.5 cm. Maximal Width: 4.2 cm.
Condition: Very Good. Natural wear matching the age of the item.
