Penkas HaMohel -  Chasam Sofer ZT"L

A unique and rare book containing documentation of circumcision performed by the great Rabbi Moshe Sofer (the Chasam Sofer) ZT"L, spanning the years 1813 to 1839 (תקע"ג to תקצ"ט). The manuscript consists of over 800 pages written in the Chasam Sofer's handwriting, containing various notes, explanations on the halachot and customs of Brit Milah (circumcision), as well as personal names, titles, and additional detailed commentary.

This book provides valuable insight into the circumcisions carried out by the Chasam Sofer, including detailed records of families from the city of Pressburg (modern-day Bratislava) and accounts of the circumcised individuals. It also includes photos and photocopies of documents, and other valuable archival materials.

The work was compiled by Rabbi Alexander Zusha Kinstlicher and is an important historical resource for the study of Jewish circumcision practices and the Chasam Sofer’s life and work.
