Hilchot Rav Alfas (Rif), Parts I, II, IV and V, with commentaries, Mordechai and Tosefta. Slavita: R. Dov Ber Segal and R. Dov Ber son of R. Pesach [at the printing press of R. Moshe Shapira Rabbi of Slavita], 1807-1810. Approbation by R. Levi Yitzchak of Berdichev. Four parts (of five; without part III) in four volumes.
Ownership inscription (damaged at beginning) and signatures of R. Shaul Katzin and of his son R. Shlomo Katzin on the title page of part V. Other inscriptions on title page of part II and on back endpaper of part V, including ownership inscription on verso.


R. Shaul Katzin (1864-1917), author of Kelilat Shaul, prominent Torah scholar of Aleppo. Outstanding Torah scholar, kabbalist and communal leader in Jerusalem.


Four volumes. Part I: [2], 52; 14, 13-14; 100; 46 leaves. Part II: 188; 26 leaves. Leaf 147 bound out of sequence, after leaf 138. Part IV: 156; 116, 115-116, 125-144 leaves. Defect to leaves 17-18 of first sequence – pp. 17b-18a blank (bound out of sequence, after leaf 98). Part V: 6, 57-64, 67-72; 7-202; 56, 73-76 leaves. Leaves 57-64, 67-72 of second sequence bound out of order, after leaf 6 of first sequence. 33-34.5 cm. Mostly printed on greenish paper. Condition varies. Parts I and II in overall good-fair condition, parts IV and V in overall fair condition. Stains, including dampstains. Worming, affecting text, repaired in part with paper. Extensive worming to parts IV and V. Tears, including open tears to title pages of parts IV and V and in several other places, repaired in part with paper. Stamps. New (non-uniform) bindings.
