Sabbatai Zevi - Etching
Etching, portrait of Sabbatai Zevi. [Europe, 17/18th century].
The etching portrays a man’s bust, wearing a fez, his face bearded, in elegant attire with buttons. At the back, on the right, a crown is depicted and a sign inscribed (Hebrew) “Yoelu(?) Yehezkel Lo”. A printed inscription (Dutch) appears on the bottom “Sabetha Sebi Vermeynden Messias der Ioden” [Sabbatai Zevi Messiah of Jews].
29X18.5 cm. Good condition, spotting on lower part.
