Ketubah on Parchment – Prague, 1840
Ketubah (marriage contract), recording the marriage of the groom Aharon, son of Rabbi Moshe HaLevi to the bride Feigala “known as Francisca”, daughter of Rabbi Raphael. Prague, December 1840.
Fine Ashkenazi writing upon parchment. Signatures of witnesses: “Yosef, known as Yasef Toyves, faithful assistant of community of Prague”, and “Gavriel David Leifen, faithful assistant of community of Prague”.
At the beginning of the Ketubah, governmental stamps of authorization [one of which contains the civil date].
21 cm. Good condition, folding marks along length and width of parchment.
