Three Coin Silver Tongs, Philadelphia and New York Makers
A pair of tongs by Fletcher and Gardiner, Philadelphia c.1815-1922 with acorn terminals and acanthus leaf decoration with demi-lion crest at the top with, a pair of tongs by R & W Wilson, Philadelphia c. 1830, with shell terminals, Sheaf of Wheat and grapevine decoration , and an example by Samuel Benedict, New York c. 1850, with shell terminals and basket of flowers at the handles
Dimensions: Tongs range from 6 1/2" to 7 1/4", the approximate weight is 7.47 troy ounces.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.
Condition:
All pieces are in good condition, with minor expected wear.
