Five Pieces of Wrought Iron and Brass Hearth Cooking Tools
Five Pieces of Pennsylvania Wrought Iron and Brass Hearth Cooking Tools, Late 18th-Early 19th Century. Comprising a York County, Pennsylvania pair: ladle and strainer with brass bowls, iron rivets and incised vine decoration to the handles; a larger pair: ladle and strainer with brass bowls, brass rivets, turned and shaped flat handles, together with a similar smaller dipper. (5)
Dimensions: Lengths range from 15in to 21in.
Provenance: With Monroe Coldren & Son, West Chester, Pennsylvania (the larger pair; purchased from a farm sale in Oxford, Pennsylvania, 1989)
Condition:
Five very good examples with typical honest wear commensurate with age and use. Light oxidation to the ironwork, minor bending to the brass bowls, otherwise good condition.
