A Coin Silver Coffeepot, Joseph Shoemaker, Philadelphia
Circa 1795, with a square base below a beaded foot, the body with a waisted shoulder, the carved wooden handle with acanthus carving, all below a hinged lid with urn finial. Monogrammed, MK and marked as pictured.
Dimensions: 12" x 6 1/4", the height is 15 7/8", the approximate gross weight is 44 troy ounces.
Provenance: Christie's, New York, "Important American Furniture, Silver, Prints, Folk Art", January 21, 2000, Lot 317.
Condition:
The base of the spout is slightly pushed into the body, otherwise good condition.
