His collection reflects his interest in the Delaware Valley, with an emphasis on mid 18th through early 19th century silversmiths and figured hardwoods vetted by his discerning eye for form and surface. Among the highlights are a Thomas Stretch Philadelphia clock, a collection of figured maple furniture, and silver by noted makers such as Joseph Richardson Sr. and Richard Humphreys.

A Federal Cherry Stand, Early 19th Century. The square top with substantial overhang, above a single dovetailed drawer with turned knob, raised on turned legs. Mortis-and-tenon, pinned construction. Pine secondary wood.

Dimensions: Height 27 1/4in; width 20in; depth 19 1/2in.

Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.


Condition:

Structurally sound. Retaining an old dark and dry surface. Turned knob is possibly replaced. General marks, wear, nicks, abrasions and surface scratches commensurate with age and use.
