First Jewish Sefer Printed in Livorno: Rare! Yalkut Shimoni, 1649-1652.

“The Yalkut, on all twenty four Seforim (I. on the Torah), by Rabbi Shimon, head of the speakers of Vrankburt. With commentary ‘Brit Avraham’ by Rabbi Avraham Gedalya of Yerushalayim. YBI”G Press (Yedidya ben Yitzchak Gabai), Livorno, 1649-1652.
At the beginning of the Sefer is a “A Sent Letter” in which the printer tells of the founding of the press in Livorno, and at the end of the volume he adds ‘words from the printer to the reader’.
Rare to fine both sections of this sefer!
Originally printed in 2 volumes, in this present copy the first volume is split into 2 sections, which make a total of 3 volumes.
