Interesting Letter by the "Chazon Ish" – to the Members of Poalei Agudat Yisrael
A letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi Avraham Yeshayahu Karelitz the "Chazon Ish". The letter was sent to the members of Poalei Agudat Yisrael
The background of the letter: a delegation of rabbis was sent abroad, among them the brother of the "Chazon Ish", Rabbi Meir Karelitz. The above rabbis needed money for their expenses. The "Chzaon Ish" had a sum of 20 Israeli Lirot which belonged to Agudat Yisrael. In the letter, the Chazon Ish requests permission to use 5 Israeli Lirot for the expenses of the delegation and encourages the addressees to comply.
After his signature
"Ish Friday the eve of Sabbath Lech Bnei Berak" (Hebrew), the Chazon Ish adds "I have heard that the Gaon Rabbi Dushinsky has a sum for the Land of Israel to support the observers of the seventh year … in their response may they not mention the secret matter only their agreement" (Hebrew).
