Chinese Neolithic Tripod Vessel Li
Chinese Shang Dynasty Neolithic earthenware pottery tripod vessel (Li), likely lower Xiajiadian culture, ca. 2200-1600 BCE. With a tall body, thick everted and flared rim, and three conical supports.
Height: 8 in x diameter: 6 1/2 in.
Condition: The vessel is in generally good condition with no major chips, losses, or dents. There is wear throughout as expected from its age. Along the body, there are two parallel hairline cracks, each 2 inches and 1 1/2 inches long. There is a 1/4 inch long minor crack to the rim. Dust and soil collected to the surface. Along the underside, there is a 3/4 inch long residue to one of three feet, which is only visible under UV light. Under UV inspection, there is no sign of restoration. Please contact us for a detailed condition report. Please note that the lack of a condition statement does not imply perfect condition.
