Sefer HaAruch, Basle 1599.
A complete copy of the Basel edition of Sefer HaAruch, printed in 1599. It was authored by R. Nassan ben R. Yechiel of Rome, who lived in the 11th century. It is common knowledge that Sefer HaAruch was first printed in Pesaro in 1517, however National Library of Israel lists a copy printed in Rome as early as 1470-1480.
Seen on the title page is the signature of R. Yitzchak Koenig, Rabbi of Mezotur, Hungary. Not much is known about his life; apparently he emigrated to Jerusalem in the early 20th century, as his signature is seen together with the leading Rabbis of Jerusalem of that era, such as R. Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld and others.
In moderate condition. Worming throughout, causing significant damage to text on many leaves. New binding.
