Sefer Zohar - Bereishis, Slavita 1809. Personal Copy of R. Yosha Morgenstern of Kotsk.
Sefer Zohar Bereishis (Vol I.), Slavita 1809. With approbations from Chasidic leaders of the time. An early edition of the Zohar printed in the town of Slavuta. It is well known that during this time, R. Moshe Shapiro of the famed Shapiro printing press was working on this edition as well, although his name does not appear on the title page.
The personal copy of R. Yosha of Kotzk, who was the son of R. David of Kotzk, and grandson of the Kotzker Rebbe. He served as Rav of Pulawy after the death of his brother R. Yisroel Morgenstern in 1906. His personal stamp is seen on title page and final leaf; many of his ownership inscriptions are also seen.
A beautiful copy, bound in original binding. Printed entirely on blue paper. Wide margins, with page edges painted red.
