Rare: Seder L’Arbah Tzomos – According To The Carpentras Rite, Amsterdam 1761. First Edition
Prayers and supplications, arranged for the various fast days throughout the year, according the Carpentras rite.
Carpentras is undoubtedly one of the oldest Jewish communities in France. The synagogue, which is still in use today, was built in 1367. This is the first printed edition, as previously all Machzorim and prayer books of Carpentras existed only in manuscript form.
With a lengthy afterword from the publisher on the final 2 leaves.
A very fine copy, with generous margins.
